Environmental subject matter expertise
We are committed to the continued execution of sustainable practices through out our organization. Engaging internal employees by gathering their insight and ideas on improvement projects. Creating awareness, encouraging relationships and partnerships with businesses/districts who have a like minded interest in sustainable efforts.
Zero waste facilities
School Specialty's Project Green leadership team is collaborating with Link International to implement and ensure that our facilities are working at a Zero Waste capacity. The goal of implementation is end of 2022.
Eco Friendly Shipping
School Specialty understands the importance of green efforts in all portions of the organization. Packaging and shipping of company products is and will continue to be a focus of our green efforts. The goal of making this portion of our organization more sustainable within the next 5-10 years.
Paper catalog printing to online catalogs
School Specialty has often been known to be a "catalog company." These are a resource that supports our customers. We be keeping our catalogs but have and will continue to encourage our customers to use the online version. Over the past 10 years we along with our customers have made large strides towards this effort. This year alone we printed only 30% of the amount of catalogs printed 10 years ago and continue to hit a goal of printing only 10% by 2030.
